The Crew
of
Pirate's Plunder

Pirate's Plunder has five loyal crew members that handle sales responsibility for the privateer armada.  When you visit us, you will find one or more of us lurking around.

Lisa (also known as "Lead Bucket")

Lead Bucket Lisa has been known to flael flatlander and shellback alike if they stray from the straight and narrow in her presence.  She prefers to be addressed as "Mam" accompanied by a sharp salute (and if I were you, I'd do it).  She has been known to bend bronze and brass into chain without the assistance of tool or shipmate.  She is sturdy in spirit and body.  Beware if you cross her.  She has a rather nasty habit of using contrary customers coated with lead as her fishing net weights.  In fact, that is how she got her name.  She tripped over a tin bucket on her first day at the Plunder, and within two hours, that bucket was coated with lead and tied to net at the bottom of Yaquina Bay.  Rumor has it that there are well over 100 lead "weights" at the bottom of the bay holding down her nets.  Beware is right.  There is always room for more.

Kelli (also known as "Keel Haulin' Kelli"

Kelli is the youngest member of the crew.  She was found on a deserted island just north of Cartenga, alone, hungry, and in need of a diaper change.   Though young, Kelli learned the ways of the sea with an eagerness rarely seen.  She took to the "runaway account" with style and savagery.  Don't be surprised if this young lass appears from thin air to meet your every shopping need.  She shows remarkable daring at the register and can even care for the little ones as they innocently stroll to their doom on the store's plank.  We strongly recommend you keep a weather eye out on the cute little ones you bring into the store....either with four legs or two, Keel Haulin' Kelli is likely on the prowl.

Bev (also known as "Blunderbuss Beverly"

Blunderbuss Beverly is a full charge of fiendishly frightful ferociousness.  Bev is known gut strong men three days before they even notice they've been filleted.  She is sharp as a cutlass and will bamboozle even the most astute sailor.  She hails from New Providence with an eye for the finer things in the hold.  She can slither out a wallet from ten feet away without notice.  Bev be sweet, but be of caution....she can turn to plucking your eyes out of their sockets on a moment's whim.  When aroused, her anger blasts like a fully charged hip cannon, thus the name she surely has earned more than a hundred times.

IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII

Trish ( also known as "Beloved Lady Trisha"

Beloved Lady Trisha is just that....Captain Robert Blair's beloved.  She is Master of the ship and (in case you are slow of foot) is the namesake of the ship Trisha Blair, which was the vessel whose wreck created Pirate's Plunder.  She is a Captain in her own right as was a lady adventurer before joining forces with Robert Blair to sail together in search of treasure.  She graces the aisles of Pirate's Plunder with her beauty and gentle nature.  She is, however, also known for her ability to charm the life out of anyone who dare cross her path with anything less than honorable intentions.  She has ably filled Davy Jones' Locker with many a soul with ruthless abandonment.  Respect is quietly demanded in her presence....so, be warned!  Foul moods are soon "laid to rest" if ya knows what I speak of......yarrrrr!

Needless to say, the gals make quite a special service crew for Pirate's Plunder.  We certainly have come to value their contribution to making Pirate's Plunder one of the most unusual and memorable attractions in Newport and on the Oregon Central Coast.

Now, we have one more member of the crew..............

Well, not quite...but I will certainly keep looking for this one....

Instead, we found this guy.  He claims to be a member of our crew.  He has piratitude!  He claims to have been part of Pirate's Plunder since the beginning.  He works on the "ground floor".  Sometimes, he can be seen scampering around the place.  If you see him, just smile.  He is quite a pirate.

Okay, so it's really this guy. His name is Master Robert Cockroach Blair.  He hangs around (even though we don't feed him anymore).  He pretends to own the joint and is rather obnoxious to everyone who comes in while he is hosting.  He is also known by his pirate name, Cockroach.  He claims to have been given the name by Edward Teach after Blair and another buccaneer swindled Teach out of some of his treasure.  Actually, his name was given to him by Spanish War Galleon captains after they tried in vain to capture or kill him.  The children of New Spain saw Spanish captains throwing their hats on the ground in anger and them stomp on them. The Spanish captains would then scream out the name "Cockroach" and repeat the hat stomp because of the endless frustration Robert Blair afforded them by his stealth and success as a raider of their fleets.  You may have heard, but if not, that is how the Mexican hat dance started and the song, "La Cookaracha!" .  If you want to know more about Master Robert Blair, we suggest you read about how he and his Beloved started Pirate's Plunder  Click Here If you see him, be kind.  He is fairly harmless.  He also, reportedly, has a pretty fair sense of humor.
